Giant Schnauzer Crossbreed Dog for Adoption & Dog Rescue
This is Taz, an approx 7 year old Giant Schnauzer cross who has been living at the Ferne Animal Sanctuary in Chard, Somerset for three and a half years. Although Taz is quite happy in the kennels, he is very affectionate and loves attention so finding a home for him would fantastic. Have you got room in your heart and home for Taz?
Taz originally arrived at the dog rescue centre from the dog warden after being badly mistreated. He was rehomed but unfortunately was returned as he became aggressive towards other dogs and nipped a person.
Since returning to the animal shelter he has been walked with several dogs, and although he is not keen on small dogs, he is usually fine with other dogs. He would not be suitable to live with other dogs but if on a lead and if other dogs don't actually jump on him he is generally fine. He is very aggressive to cats and other small furries.
Taz is a strong dog but very loving and playful, he particulally loves chasing a ball and enjoys being groomed. He will happily walk for miles on the lead and if a Halti is used walks very nicely. Because of his size and history, Taz could only be rehomed to a household with no children or older children/teenagers.
Ferne are looking for a special home for Taz - a responsible owner with a secure garden and experience of handling larger dogs. They normally rehome within a 30 mile radius of the animal sanctuary but will consider further afield for Taz in order to find him the right home.
Ferne Animal Sanctuary strives to provide care and refuge for unwanted domestic and farm animals across a 30 mile radius. This covers three counties: Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Some of the animals arrive at Ferne because they have been neglected or are no longer wanted. Others arrive because of the circumstantial changes of their owners. All animals are given the care, attention and TLC they need to enjoy a happy life while they are with Ferne.
