George the Akita

Meet Bear, a striking male Japanese Akita rescue dog currently living at the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) boarding kennels in Chesterfield, Derbyshire after being picked up as a stray. Bear would love a home to call his own - can you help?

Bear loves people and has spent a little time around children in an emergency foster situation. A big lad, Bear pulls on the lead, and will require an owner willing to take time and effort to maintain a level of training. Aged between three and five, Bear could potentially live with the right female, subject to satisfactory introductions.

Bear has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. The Friends of Akitas Trust will consider rehoming Bear anywhere in the UK.

The Friends of Akitas Trust are Akita enthusiasts who felt they could do more to help Akitas in need. Every week numbers of Akitas end up in council pounds with only seven days to find a home before destruction. Friends of Akitas aim to get as many of these dogs as possible into 'safe' kennels and ultimately into new forever homes.
