At Rescue Dogs we list pedigree and crossbreed dogs of every shape and size currently living in dog rescue centres across the UK and Ireland. Some dogs arrive as strays, some are given up by their owners and others are rescued for their own safety. All of them deserve a loving and forever home. The internet is a powerful advertising tool and this site has been created to give the many overlooked rescue dogs a better chance of finding their new home.
Rescue dogs are listed by area though many can be rehomed nationally. The dogs on this site are often overlooked because of their breed or age. Consequently, there is no option to search by breed or age and we hope instead that you will approach the galleries with an open mind. Breeds that have received bad press in recent years make wonderful family pets when under the care of a loving and responsible owner. All of the dogs on this site (young and old) are young at heart and would love a second chance.
South West rescue dogs are available for rehoming in Gloucestershire, Bristol, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and Wiltshire. Dogs needing homes in the West Midlands include Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Herefordshire. In the East Midlands rescue dogs need adoption in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire. Dogs looking for a forever home in the South East include Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. In East Anglia we list dog for rescue in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire. North West of England rescue dogs are available for rehoming in Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cumbria. In the North East dogs seeking homes can be found in Durham, Northumberland, Teeside and Tyne and Wear. Dogs are also looking for homes in North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire, West Yorkshire, Hull and Humberside.
We also list dogs for adoption in Scotland (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee), North Wales (Wrexham, Colwyn and Bangor) and South Wales (Aberystwyth, Cardiff and Swansea). The dogs also come from rescue centres in Northern Ireland (Belfast, Lisburn and Derry) and the Republic of Ireland (Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway).
