Smurf and Slave, both ex-racing Greyhounds, arrived at Poplar Farm Kennels in Ely, Cambridgeshire separately over 3 years ago and have been available for adoption ever since. Both Greyhounds are now so fond of one another that they are looking for a home together. Despite the kennel owners best efforts and even a centre fold spread in the Cambridge News, no home has been found. Could your home be the one?
Smurf is a very pretty and affectionate 7 year old female black Greyhound. She is good with other dogs and is very playful and lively. Smurf is good on a lead, great with people and clean in her kennel. She travels well in a car and is happy out and about. Smurf does have a high prey drive so must be watched round cats and small animals. Smurf is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
Slave is a really handsome 5 year old lad and typical of the Grehound breed – affectionate, gentle and walks very well on lead. All he needs is love, cuddles and a home to call his own. Slave is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He is also clean in his kennel. Smurf and Slave would ideally like a home with someone home a lot of the time.
Older children in the home would not be a problem. These rescue dogs cannot live with cats but get along well with other dogs. Greyhounds are so rewarding to have around and give any love offered back tenfold. Poplar Farm Kennels offers refuge to dogs that would otherwise have been put to sleep. Dogs are vet-checked, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped.
