George the Akita

Akita rescue dog George is a more mature gentleman approximately 8 years of age. Poor George was found tied up outside the pound on a freezing cold February day. George is now in the Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) boarding kennels in Chesterfield, Derbyshire where he has proved himself to be a lovely boy. George is looking forward to meeting his new family - could this be you?

George is a clever boy and is very easy to train - he is very good on a lead, is house trained and loves people. Sadly it appears that George has been beaten in the past as he shys away from sudden movement.

George has been placed in one home which unfortunately did not work out. It was discovered during this time that Geore suffers from separation anxiety, possibly due to his life so far. George would be best suited to a home where he is the only pet, and where his owners will have the time, dedication and love to work with him.

Friends of Akitas are looking for home with older children/teenagers for George. He will need a secure garden.

George has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped. The Friends of Akitas Trust will consider rehoming George anywhere in the UK.

The Friends of Akitas Trust are Akita enthusiasts who felt they could do more to help Akitas in need. Every week numbers of Akitas end up in council pounds with only seven days to find a home before destruction. Friends of Akitas aim to get as many of these dogs as possible into 'safe' kennels and ultimately into new forever homes.
