Japanese Akita Rescue Dog
Another gorgeous Japanese Akita finds herself looks for a forever home! Ebony is 12 years old and has been at Plantation Dog Rescue in North Yorkshire since November 2006. Ebony and her brother Kojo (another Akita who she had spent 9 years with) were handed over to the council kennels because their owners could not keep them anymore. Both were due to be put to sleep so Plantation took them in. Kojo sadly died in March this year. Do you have a loving and comfortable home where Ebony can spend the rest of her days?
Ebony is a real character - she is full of fun, and loves her cuddles and walks. She is housetrained and fine with all people including children but due to her size she could not be rehomed where there are children under 16 years old. She does not need lots of exercise, just a short walk a day and a fully enclosed garden would be fine. She does need a lot of grooming.
Ebony does not like dogs or cats so can not be let off the lead.
Ebony has a couple of bumps which the vets have advised the dog rescue centre to bathe but otherwise leave. She also has bad teeth but at her age and since they are not causing her any discomfort Plantation have decided to leave them alone and put warm water on her food instead.
Plantation will consider rehoming Ebony anywhere in the UK in an effort to find her the right home.
Plantation Dog Rescue pick up dogs from the council run kennels that are due to be put to sleep. Plantation makes sure strays get the veterinary treatment that they need, including vaccinations, neutering, flea and worming treatments. They also microchip all the dogs and assess them, do some training with them and then find them new homes. Since January 2005 they have rescued and rehomed over 200 dogs from Yorkshire and other areas and completed many people’s families - it is an expensive tasks that relies heavily on donations.
